  • System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'Common'
    5 Posts | Last post April 21, 2010
    • Hi,

      The conversion tool worked for my project without any errors but when I am trying to run the converted Coded UITest, i am getting the following error.
      ===================================================================
      System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'Common' from assembly 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITesting, Version=10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'.
      ===================================================================

      Any suggestions please?

      Regards,
      Pankaj
    • Pankaj,

      Which version of Visual Studio do you have installed?
      Which version did you use to create the Coded UI Test?

    • Hi Pankaj
      Please post on the CodedUITest forum at http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vsautotest/threads
      for any codedUITest Queries. However use this for any UITestUpgrade issues.
    • Thanks Mathew and Rituparna.

      Mathew: I have created the Coded UITest on VSTS 2010 Beta2(Ultimate) and am now trying to convert it using the final release (VSTS 2010 Ultimate).

      Rituparna: I have posted my query in continuation to my previuos query at http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vsautotest/thread/d382ed62-b161-450b-aebe-423665caddd6

    • Hi,

      The problem was due to the reference of Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UITest.Common added under the references section. The solution is working fine after removing the stale reference.
      Thanks alot to all for the support.

      Regards,
      Pankaj
