Axe, is primarily an Automated Program Generator that takes tests written using Action/Data keyword pairs in a spreadsheet and generates test scripts for a wide number of different test automation tools.

Axe allows projects to create automated test suites without the need for all users to be skilled automation testers. Any project using Axe should have a qualified Axe Technician to hand to assist with tester’s issues, generation of custom 'actions' etc., but with the Axe Technician needing no more technical skills than a good automation tester anyway, that is not an additional cost!

If a project is poorly managed with flawed processes and/or has testers of a poor calibre then Axe will not miraculously make things better. If, however, a project is well run with good skilled personnel then Axe can dramatically increase tester productivity, reduce costs and make the test scripts so maintainable that they can even be migrated from one automation tool to another quickly and economically.

Axe does what is says on the box, does it well and is a must-have tool for any well run windows development project.

I was approached by a Wealth Investment company to review their current Automation framework and get an Automation solution implemented as quick as possible. This customer has spent over 12 months building this framework, but yet there were merely a number of test cases automated. I came across Axe and thought I’d give it a try. I used Selenium C# as the scripting tool and managed to automate the entire Investment section within 2 weeks! The customer was so impressed with the results obtained by Axe that the IS manager has introduced my company to the rest of the departments and I will now pursue implementing Axe across the entire organisation. I believe in Axe and will continue using this outstanding platform at as many customers as possible. It’s easy, logical and flexible with multiple scripting tools to integrate with. Well done Odin! You have made me look very good!

I manage an Automation test team for a very large company. We have explored several vendor tools over the past 2+ years, searching for a way to do automation testing more efficiently. The AXE tool has proven it's worth to accomplish this and we are now using AXE as a key part of our strategy going forward. We are excited that AXE provides automation without requiring advanced coding skillsets, detailed documentation, a view of test coverage and transaction timings. In other words, several features and elements that are crucial to any automation testing organization. We also believe that AXE does this better than any of the similar vendor tools we have seen in the marketplace today.

Axe is a great tool so simple to use and gets the job done.
In the 1 and a half years I used it I found it really easy to pick up despite not having any experience with automated tools.
It's definately worth considering as it brings so many benefits.

I have used Axe for the past 3 years. This tool helped me introduce automation to a QA department that had tried going the automation route a few different times in the past but it never really took off. Axe gave me the ability to teach the QA team quickly. After only a couple hours of train the QA team was creating and executing USEFUL test cases in the current project.

The one thing that we need to be kept in mind is my QA team was able to learn and apply Axe, while keeping up with their day to day tasks. The project calendar was not changed because we wanted to introduce automation.

As far as I am concerned Axe has set the bar for all other automation tools. I have and will continue to recommend Axe to all my peers.

I've used Axe for 3 years and its an excellent tool, having very little automation experience before i was writing tests in a matter or days using Axe's Data Driven framework.

I recommend Axe to any testing project.

Using Axe has shown an incredible return on investment. The business case is strong. Its introduction has revolutionised a costly, inefficient, high-maintenance automation regime operated by specialists into one where the whole project can contribute and where regression results are available daily. Moreover, Axe has permitted us to extend automation scope from GUI only to now include APIs, Web Services, file content and databases all driven through the common spreadsheet interface.

All this has allowed us to reduce system testing time by 50% while increasing coverage by 200%, all with results that can be readily understood. New customer platforms can be evaluated in days whereas before this could take a month.

I've been involved in a number of projects requiring test automation utilising a diverse set of automation tools and, in my opinion, Axe comes out on top every time. One of the key benefits in my experience is the simplicity with which automated tests can be generated within Axe. This not only opens up the possibility for business knowledge experts to easily create automated tests regardless of their technical background but also allows incredibly rapid test coverage ramp up on any new project.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Axe to any testing project.

I have used Axe for the past 4 years. I have been invoilved in automated testing for 12 years, and I wished I could have had this tool on all my previous projects. The ramp up time to build an automated test suite is so much quicker with Axe.

It makes life so much easier when trying to automate tests, and the fact that they support so many testing tools (off the shelf and open source), gives the tester the option to still use the right test tool for the job. The fact that they are now going to support VS2010, shows how versatile this tool is.

I recommend Axe to any one wishing to start automating, or even looking at reworking their automation framework.

Axe allows good testers to be automatation testers - very quickly.

One of the strengths of Axe is the integration with C# be it with CodedUI, WatiN, Selenium or your own custom .Net wrapper.

Another greate feature of Axe platform is the ability to store Test data and artifacts, from SQL statements to XML files.

AXE is the silver bullet for automation. I have used AXE for 7 Years on a number of projects had in each instance it has allowed me to develop automated tests quickly and efficiently and build teams of automation testers using individuals with little all no automation experience. The Excel, Keyword, Data Driven framework is intuitive, simple and easy to grasp. Little or no training is required.

AXE is highly scalable and on the current project my team and I have over 10000 tests that are executed and maintained on a daily basis. The integration with VS2010 is fantastic and we shall shortly be migrating to this from WatiN.

Would I consider any other tool NO.

Axe is a fantastic tool that has proven success time and time again. I have been a test automation consultant for 11 years, and I would never start an automation project without it. The integration with Visual Studio is a very welcome addition. Odin has provided great support and are a very friendly company to work with.

This is a great tool, and I wouldn't consider testing without it. Great news that it now has an integration with VS2010.
