Using VS2010 w Win 7.
Tried it on several different types of projects and a couple of different machines. It worked once on one project on one machine... Otherwise, epic fail despite all the trappings of a great idea....
Its a good start. It has lots of bugs in it still for Visual Studio 2010...
BUG with nested solution folders http://autobuil dversion.codepl ex.com/workitem /7428 Not working in Visual Studio 2010 SP1 http://autobuil dversion.codepl ex.com/workitem /7405 just to name the big 2 issues I'm currently seeing And it looks like the last update for this project was on Aug 19th.
Not tested yet :P
Cool tool: I use the components versioning extensively for the first time. Microsoft has forgotten to give us a versioning in VS2010, right? Any way, now we can work with a very good tool, thanks.
doesnt work with VS2010 and C/C++ although the website states otherwise ...
Something i long missed :)
Nice little extension.

Can this work with regular C++ (unmanaged) projects too ... would be great if it did.

1 on the question above. If it can be set to update the version info in the resource files for unmanaged projects it would be great.

no, it doesnt work with C/C . But there are several other addins which DO work with C/C - just search for them in the online-gallery

“Several other addins”? I have not been able to find any. The closest I could find was Version Number Generator by Marek Sienczak which does not work (VS says it didn’t work and prompts to remove it).
Maybe it would be more helpful to list at least one or two actual, specific examples.

If you're using TFS to do automated builds, will this do anything on the build server or is it really just for individual use?

Too bad it does not help with versioning web applications
