  • TFS MSSCCI Provider not showing up in SSMS 2012
    5 Posts | Last post May 28, 2014
    • I installed the TFS 2012 MSSCCI Provider 64-bit for SSMS 2012 and it is not not showing up in SSMS 2012 Source Control Plugin Selection. How do I get this to show as a selection item?
    • Was this issue fixed? I am having the same problem. Even though I installed it, no plugins show up under Tools ->Source Control -> Plugins in my SSMS.
I am using SQL Server 2008 R2 and TFS 2012 Premium.
    • I'm on 64 bit OS but the 32 bit version worked for me in SSMS 2012.
    • I have the same problem - not showing up in the list of Plugins in management studio. What is the fix?
    • I think I found the issue (at least for me). I have a 64-bit os, but the SSMS is a 32-bit. I installed the 32-bit version of "Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2012 MSSCCI Provider", then it showed up in SSMS.

      Hope this helps someone.
  • Won't install, and show wrong application name on install
    1 Posts | Last post September 11, 2013
    • I am running a Win7 64bit instance, with VS2012.3 Ultimate. When I try and install Team explorer, the installation will only allow a repair or uninstall of Team Explorer, perhaps because the functionality is installed in VS2012.

However, when downloading this component from the link above the application name comes up as "Team Foundation Server Power Tools 2012" in the IE Security Warning.

When I run the installation, I get the message: "Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Team Explorer or itstools are not installed or registered. please install or repair your Team Foundation Client Installation". Then exits. The same happens for the 32bit download.

My connection to TFS through VS2012 works perfectly, so does power tools. I only want this component to integrate SSMS.

      Please help!
  • Can't install the provider on Win2003R2 64bit SP2
    2 Posts | Last post July 05, 2013
    • Hi,

When trying to install the provider, I'm getting the "Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Team Explorer or its tool are not registered. Please install or repair your Team Foundation Client Installation" message.

Looking at the requirement for "VS2012 Team Explorer" it doesn't seems to be an option (The specified program requires a newer version of Windows).

      What to do?

      Best regards
      Morten

BTW: running VS2005 Architect on the Win2003 installation
