I find this extension very useful. It should be the default behavior of VS in my opinion

by MemeDeveloper | March 25 2012

Note - current version does sync up newly opened files also, so once you set the zoom - its set for the day / .sln !

Does what I needed perfect -don't know why I never searched for this before Massive timesaver - thank you !!!

Useful, thanks.

I feel kind of mean for giving three stars, but I hope the developer would take it as a reason to improve the tool. My problem is the same as some other users: the collapse icons ([+] and [-]) get messed up in newly opened items. But the tool, itself, is great and works like a charm :)

Thank you!

Really helping/Awesome Product. :)

It works well for all files (i.e. tabs) that you have open. Only giving it 3 stars though because it only affects the files that are already open. If you open a new file, that file will still have the default zoom of 100%, and will also reset all of your open files back to a zoom level of 100% :( . If this tool was to set the zoom level for new files to match those that are already open, then I would give it 5 stars for sure.

Googled "vs2010 sync editor zoom level", found this. Does exactly what I wanted. Five stars for you, good sir.

Works fine except one visual problem:
Collapsing nodes (+ & - at the left side) on reopened document are not correctly aligned to the zoomed text. They are not zoomed.

Excellent extension!

Invaluable extension. I would give ***** rating.

Works brilliantly. 4.9 stars.

I would give this 5 stars if not for one problem: The expand\collapse region widgets on the left side of each window get messed up sometimes, on open inactive window tabs only. However, if you see this bug when switching through your tabs, it's immediately solved by scroll-zooming in or out again.

Works exactly as advertised. Great for switching between multiple monitors and the laptop screen without having to switch font settings.

Also handy for getting a good zoom level for pairing and presentations.

  • Set zoom level for newly opened files
    1 Posts | Last Post December 16, 2011
    • Can you please update this extension so that when you open a file it sets the file to have the global zoom level. Right now it defaults the file to 100%, and resets any open files back to 100% as well. This is a bug in my eyes.
  • Apply zoom to outlining indicators

    • First of all, thanks for this extension!

Would it be possible to also zoom the outlining indicators (+/- symbols). They're currently out of vertical sync with the zoomed code, making them hard to use.

      Cheers,

  • Two bugs
    1 Posts | Last Post September 12, 2010
    • Great extension! I was wondering, however, if Chris wouldn't mind finding the time to fix two bugs...

When opening a new window (for example, a .cs file), the global zoom level renormalizes to 100%.

Also, the expand\collapse widgets on the left of each window of inactive tabs do not always update with the zoom. An adjustment of the zoom fixes this, so it's not a big problem.
  • Zoom persistence

    • As Chris mentioned, I am interested to have zoom persistence too. Anybody has any suggestion?

      Thanks in advance.

  • Zoom persistence across sessions.

    • Hi Chris,

Is it possible to automatically save and later restore a zoom value when VS is started?
Consolas font is nice but it has a problem with the size: 10 is too small and 11 is too big. Best was 105% zoom with size 10.

      Thanks in advance,
      Zura
