Very Useful

by Arne Velle | May 24 2013

VS Anywhere is really helpful tool. Now I can program with others in realtime, and no "commit" to GITs and similar and get everything broken in the end.

The support team of VS Anywhere are really helpful and nice!

Good support

by Michael Bentein | March 08 2013

Extremely useful tool! When I'm stuck in a part of our framework, I can just ask an expert to come join me and quickly peer review my code so that I can go on. Its a seamless experience.

will not install to VS 2012 for windows 8. would be nice to have this to train people to make windows 8 apps.

Hello BurningBOB

If you are using VS2012 Express Edition you won't be able to setup any VSIX extension, this is by design.

For feature request we have a specific site:

http://vsanywhere.uservoice.com/forums/176071-vs-anywhere

You can always contact us directly on support AT vsanywhere.com, we'd happy to check what is going on with VS2012/W8App SDK together with you

Kind Regards
The VS Anywhere Team

The best program what you could find out there for collaborate working. We tried some others, and tried to use some SVN as well, even tried to use the MS’s team foundation server – but neither of them gave the realtime editing ability what we seek. Expect this plugin :)

So, great work – it is extremely useful. Thanks!

Hello, thank you so much for your feedback!

Stability issues with VS Anywhere usually are because network problems, we can enable a trace in your side to see what is really happening.

Some people having Proxies or Firewalls does not configure VSA properly to avoid connection drops.

Also if you were trying VSA with VS11 Beta and you didn't read you must have VS10 setup on same box, its normal you had many crashes and problems :)

Contact as anytime!

    • VS Anywhere seems *very* inappropriate for serious corporate projects.

VS Anywhere looks nice at first, but we cannot develop corporate software on a platform with Facebook-style information sharing.

Through the VS web site (and more widely Bing) I cannot find mention of committed encryption, and only a commitment to VS Anywhere SL's intellectual property, none to the real intellectual property privacy and security of users' content and to communications between users.

"we do not guarantee the security of user information at any time"

The real surprise: unpublished User Content is available for use by VS Anywhere SL and others for the duration of the VSA account (and published/shared User Content is available to them forever). From "VS Anywhere Service Terms and Conditions of Use":

"You grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any User Content that you post on or in connection with VS Anywhere. This license lasts until you terminate your VS Anywhere account, except in the case of User Content that you have published, made public and/or share with others."
    • We provide SSL encryption on our Commercial Options, (On-Premise and Azure Servers)

More information about this topic available soon on Web Site,

      Regards
      The VS Anywhere Team
    • Below paragraph has been removed from our License Agreement, as when you write it out of context, like happened here, could create confusion, hope this helps to clarify our license agreement,

"You grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any User Content that you post on or in connection with VS Anywhere. This license lasts until you terminate your VS Anywhere account, except in the case of User Content that you have published, made public and/or share with others."

      regards

    • Hi Armando,

The "faulting" clause has been removed from our agreement,

Thank you so much to point us this issue.
