I Purchased This control, and i'm using vs2010 ,when i tried the control as you write in documentation ,after adding data , the tree didn't affect , no data appears in the tree, just white box , although data inserted in the table

After being very frustrated with the limitations of the free many-to-many control extension, I hunted down this fantastic control that saved the day.
Many thanks for a magnificent extension!
PS: At $9.95 it's a no-brainer for anyone who needs to manage categories of items or many-to-many check-box selection types of functionality.

Great control. And most importantly - great response from the author. Fast, simple and useful.

Thank you Dave!

    • Is it possible to auto-expand all elements when the control shows up?
  • Node disappears after drag and drop
    1 Posts | Last post January 15, 2014
    • We purchased and using the control for a medium-sized app. The control seems to work very well but we encountered a little problem: when moving a child node to blank area to transform it to a root node the node disappears. After saving changes and refreshing screen the node appears in the right place (as root node).
Any idea to workaround the problem?
      Thanks.

    • Are updates of this extension still being produced? I purchased 1.01, but it looks like a version 1.1 is available, can not dowload it though!
    • Dawn,
If you'll send your email address to me at dave@vblightswitch.com, I'll send you the latest version. However, it may be a couple days as my web site is down due to an OS conversion.

      Thanks,
      Dave
    • Dave,
We also purchased this treeview control.
We need the version that is compatible with Visual Studio 2013.
      Where can we download it?
      Thanks

    • Many users have inquired about a VS2013 version of the treeview. It is being worked on, but running into difficulties at the moment.
In the meantime, you may be able to use the technique described by Beth Massi in the following article:

      http://blogs.msdn.com/b/bethmassi/archive/2013/07/18/quick-tip-getting-lightswitch-extensions-to-install-into-visual-studio-2013-preview.aspx

This has worked for several users.

      Thanks,
      Dave
  • Would like to try in 2013RC

    • I do not own this control and I'm working on a project in 2013RC. I know some extensions will work without a recompile or code change. Has anybody tried this control in 2013RC? I expect the author will update once 2013 is officially out. :)
    • Yes, I plan to recompile the control when the final version of VS2013 comes out. I've successfully used the control following the update advice from Beth Massi, but others have had issues.

    • Hi again Dave
I've looked and looked and cannot see why one of my screens works and the other fails.
Please take a look at these screen-shots.
      Many thanks in advance, Mark.

    • Mark,
I cannot get the pdf screenshots to open, but based on the project code you sent via email, I believe the problem you are having is related to needing to refresh the ProductCategories dataset anytime the Selected Product is changed. For the benefit of others reading the post, this can be done as follows:
On the screen designer, select the Products dataset. In the WriteCode dropdown, select Products_SelectionChanged and add the following line of code:

      ProductCategories.Refresh()

It should work as expected after this.

    • Hi Dave
The latest version of your control fixed all my issues.
A big thankyou for your excellent support and rapid turnaround.
      All the best, Mark.
  • Existing Selections Gone on Changing Screen
    1 Posts | Last post May 29, 2013
    • Hi
I followed your example and it works like a charm except for one issue.
If I am in the "Product List Details" screen with a product selected and a category checked, if I switch to the "Product Category List Detail" screen and then back to the "Product List Details" screen again whatever categories were checked are now un-checked and the * appears saying data has changed on the screen.
If I save then the checks are lost but if I refresh the screen they come back.
Please advise how to fix this.
      Thanks, Mark.
  • Demo?

    • Hi, is there a demo available for this control?
    • Sorry, no demo control. However, if you go to our website at vblightswitch.com there is a very detailed user's guide that will give you a good sense of what it can do.
  • Problem when enabling Show Checkboxes
    4 Posts | Last post January 22, 2013
    • I bought it today. I have one issue.
When I enable "Show Checkboxes" I always get:

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

      1. Empty Collection. No problem
      2. Add one category, even before save Error message appears.

      Test is done under VS2012

      Best regards

    • Any answer ?
    • GREAT SUPPORT!!! Many Many thanks to Dave.
We exchanged some emails, and he solved the problem in 2 days.

    • I paid for this control yesterday and was promised an email with a download link. It never arrived and all my inquiries via email have gone unanswered. I'm a little pizzed. I'll report back when/if this gets resolved.

    • How much level of customization exist, I´m interested in changing, icons, color, border, etc
Is there an option form this type of customization, or should I create my own template
    • The treeview allows you to set the icons for the buttons, background color and border color.
