After trying to use ASPxGridView, ASPxTabPage, ASPxTreeList our team reverted back to classic ASP.NET cotrols as the effort spent troubleshooting these controls is not wort it.
They behave unpredictably, don't follow standard ASP.NET lifecycle, hardcode styles, pose large unnecessary markup to page, server side behavior is just plain awful (gridview needs to calls db 3x to be databound?) and their support usually states that, that's just how it is ... so long story short these are not commercial grade controls (maybe for some demos or prototypes)

ak99372,
Very sorry to hear about your experience as it's not typical. DevExpress works hard to help our customers. If you'd like to discuss this further, then please contact us at info@devexpress.com. Thanks.

I was starting with the Windows Forms Tool from DevExpress in 2010 and the learning curve was hard at the begining. Nowadays I cant imagine to make a Project without these tools and controls.
Last year I started with XAF and im still learning with that amazing toolset to make application in a few 'hours' :-)

And Im allways attonished hwo quick and ingenious the support is.

So five stars for DevExpress.

Their robust controls and developer tools was what attracted me to DevExpress back in 2009. Their OUTSTANDING support is what has kept me coming back year after year.

I'm a first time user, the first time I used a tool was for a web page which simply displayed a table and allowed the user to delete a row. In very short order I was done with a grid that had more features than the client would ever need, and those features which they did. I could have given them only the features they needed using out of the box tools, it would have taken 15 to 20 hours. I was done, tested, installed and informed the client in under 2 hours using the DevExpress Grid. It was then I knew, this tool was going to cost me money every year.

DevE has been a solid partner in my applications now for several years, and keeps me wondering how I got this far, without their great preformance, rock-solid development and the best support - by far - that I encountered. There are many software producers out there, which could learn a lot from looking at the support that DevE gives their customers, and thereby greatly improve the quality that thoose developers produce. One are newer alone with DevE by your side - never !!!

I'm using these controls for 3 years now and managed to solve all my tasks. Support is very good, but I don't need it very often after I found my way in docs/samples/existing support ticket.

An outstanding control library providing a great toolset giving your team a clear advantage.

I started to use DevExpress ASP.NET-controls four years ago. My first project was a scheduling-program for one of the worlds greatest service-clubs.
In the meantime we created many web-applications that have CMS-functionality without beeing as complex as a great CMS. This we owe the outstanding controls that DevExpress ASP.NET provides. Unbelievable functionality on both server and client side, perfect designed interfaces to javascript on client side are only a few benefits. Every time I thought, "a feature xy would be fine now" I took a look into the documentation and found, that the engineers at DevExpress already have thought to the future and the feature was already implemented.
The supporters at DevExpress answer every question, no matter how stupid, always friendly and warn of the dumbest programming errors, and end the answer with the phrase "You're always welcome." This is unique in the software industry.

I was looking for a set of controls more powerful than the standard ASP.net controls and found them with DevExpress.

The DevExpress control set has very rich functionality and their support has been very responsive and helpful.

As far as developing feature-rich internet application in a small company is concerned, product time-to-market is a key factor and we only have limited time & resources to address issues, the DevExpress ASP.NET product and Tech Support Team is exactly what we need for the above-mentioned limitations & constraints

I must say that DevExpress controls and libraries are amazing, especially the GridView that we use whereever possible. And I don't hesitate at all to say that DevExpress Tech Support Team is outstanding! Not only that they have the expertise but also a wonderful customer services mindset, and they sure are working as a team to try and address issues quickly, no matter how tough the issues are.

Quite simply a stunning collection of components whether you are doing some Winforms, Silverlight or Asp.Net. Combined with the CodeRush add-in these are fantastic. We have been using these components for about two years now and I would not swap them for the world. Not only do they save you vast amounts of time, they are rock-solid and deliver what they promise. They think of everything, even including project converters for when you want to upgrade.

Cannot speak highly enough about the components, but equally important is the documentation and support. The support is awesome - these people know their stuff and are willing to go the extra mile for you - I was really stuck with a recent problem, they went away and found a solution for me.

Only criticism is reasonably slight in that sometimes I wish they would include more code examples in their documentation - but thats about all I can find wrong.

We will renewing our subscription year ... after year ... after - you get the picture.

Fantastic - cannot say much more.

These controls are really usefull and customizable.
Plus there is are a lots of video tutorials that help in the learning process of these controls.

If you are not familiar with these controls I recommend take a look at the videos.

I have been using the DevExpress tools (WinForms) for several years now. Recently, though, we've made a paradigm shift to deliver applications through the Web. I can honestly say that I'm extremely trilled and delighted by the amount of work the DevExpress team has put into making these controls as functionally identical to their WinForms clients as possible.
The engineering and level of support that this team offers always surpasses my expectations! Sometimes, it is frustrating though that before you've mastered the current product offering they are already pitching the next great "thing since sliced bread and the toaster". But then that is the way of technology and the life of a developer.
THESE TOOLS ROCK!

Excellent solution !

Ease and flexibility of ASPxGridView, ASPxperience and XtraCharts controls are awesome!.

ASPxGridView master-detail scenarios reduced my drill down navigation from SEVEN pages to just ONE page. With XtraChart controls, I could create a dashboard at each level of drill down with amazing performance. Their themes add rich clothing to bare screens/controls.

Their vast knowledge base, excellent tech support and cross browser compatibility adds another level(s) of comfort to the developer.
