There will be a period of time when developers need to target both Windows 8.0 and 8.1. The optimal way to do this would be to have a single Visual Studio solution that shares code files.
However, unless I'm misunderstanding something, it looks like you need to use the Bing Maps Win8.0 SDK with Visual Studio 2012 and the Bing Maps Win8.1 SDK with Visual Studio 2013.
It doesn't seem to be possible to have both versions of the Bing Maps SDK installed for VS2013 ... ?
Or am I missing something?
Not missing anything from what I can tell. This is very annoying as I have to keep a separate VS 2012 VM to build a 8.0 targeted solution; if it weren't for this extension, the 8.0 targeted solution would build under VS 2013 without issue.
Previously I've used the version 1.0 of the Bing Maps SDK and my app worked perfectly with it. With build 1.113.xxx my app crashes when using the map control.
Where can I find the previous version (1.0) of the vsix file? I wish to revert back to this older version until a more stable version comes out.
Finally figured out that there is an issue with the ShowBuildings option (which can be set to false or true). Removing this feature from the source fixed the runtime error. Hope someone else can benefit from this information and possibly it can be fixed in the next release.
Hi, I installed windows 8.1, vs 2013 preview in order to make a windows 8.0 app, and I cannot install this extension into vs 2013, it says I didn't find any suitable product for the extension in order to be installed. I cannot compile my source code right now... what should I do? Thanks.
Didn't find any release documents, Please update the changes and new features available in this release. I am facing the following issue mentioned , If any one know the answer please respond. Here is the link
