Gibraltar is a need to have tool for .NET development. It will help you resolve issues very quickly and efficiently.

It's a great and easy to use tool to compare and correlate trace statements with performance data and other metric data (also your own metric data if you like). Also nice is the built-in possibility to easily get log files from the customer through email.

Gibraltar is much more than just a logging tool. We are using it in our next gen database engine for runtime Customer Experience Improvement Program, and even to help us choose which optimization algorithms are actually used by most queries in the field by real users.

This is great because it gives us the ability to collect metrics in a very unobtrusive way for the user, and they can them choose how best to submit them to us if they choose to do so.

The desktop Analyst tool is just so darn pretty it makes my previous data analysis tools look silly. And you can look at your metric data in so many different ways. It is easy to get caught up in trying to find new ways to analyze things rather than writing code!
