I have tried several similar code-structure visualizers, even Resharper's File Structure. This one is by far the most intuitive, easy-to-read, easy-to-understand and elegant of them. Can't live without it now :)

Awesome tool!
Navigating in a long code was a nightmare before VS10X. Thanks!

However, I have a suggestion; It would be nice if you add different variations of text colors. Almost every color label makes regions unable to read. (Dark theme)

Great Tool!

But since VS Community 2015 RC there are problems. First installation was fine, but after working with VS 2013 Pro and starting VS 2015 again, there is no more VS10X menu.

I wrote a support question on your website, but there was no response to it.

I will be glad to offer you support, but asking for it through a 2-star review based on no value judgment at all is not the way to go. Please write to supportATaxtoolsDOTcom and we will re-start from there.

for long my must have for C#. In constant development and prices are bearable. However, I am pretty disappointed with still lacking of java script support.

great tool and this makes everything possible on code navigation in the file.

it would be nice if it shows distinctive icon graphics on [TestMethod] attribute. possibly green colored?

This sounds interesting - I will make sure to have a look at it!

Brilliant! But when I installed the latest version of CodeMap and CommentExtender at the same time, "VS2013 Ultimate with Update 3" has TWO "VS10X" identical menus. This looks weird. Please fix this problem ASAP. Thanks.

Hmm... this shouldn't have happened. I will add it to the bug tracker and make sure to have it analyzed.

I have JetBrains Resharper, Telerik JustCode, DevExpress CodeRush as well as the full CodeSmart suite. Each of these products have similarities and differences, but the only one I have kept installed is CodeSmart of which VS10x CodeMap is a part. Good work, Mr. Kiss!

Thank you :-)

The BEST code visualizer out there - and I've tried pretty much all of them. Very intuitive and flexible. Plus the support from AxTools is always fantastic.

Thanks for the wonderful tool it works great in C# projects. but it locks down my visual studio when it updates references in C++ i keep getting a message saying

"please wait while intellisense and browsing information are updated"

This problems goes away once i disable codemap for C++ , can you help me out

Can you please be so kind and delete the <SolutionName>.SDF file that can be found at the same location as the <SolutionName>.SLN file? This is used by MS (I think) for caching C++ parsing results etc. As to why this file gets corrupted (we don't touch it in any way), beats me.

Great plugin which helps me understand large portions of code very quickly.

After some troubles with support we finally got into contact and I hope all is in good way now. Depending on that, I believe I'll increase my rating to 5* in the future.

it's wonderful and helpful;but i find a bug ;when i rename my "cpp" file to "c" or rename "h" to "hpp"(i just want to check whether i can rename my file ,it seems i can't),Vs2010 must crash;and i'am sure "VS10x CodeMap" cause it ;because when i disabled the "VS10x CodeMap",it not happen,when i enabled "VS10x CodeMap",crash;so how deal it?i like "VS10x CodeMap",i don't want to uninstall it;

I will definitely have a look at this issue condition, thank you for reporting!

EDIT Mar 31: Problem found and fixed. Updated binaries will be available later this week.

It must warn me it's trial before I start using it.

Michael Kiss [AxTools] March 26 2014
| Edit |

There is a clearly readable "Trial" label added by Microsoft at the right of the product title as you can see above ("VS10x CodeMap" in purple, "Trial" in blue). Given this, I fail to understand what is the one star rating based upon.

Not good. If solution has more large amount of project. It brings VS2010 to knees and then kill it. Fine for small projects.

Michael Kiss [AxTools] March 26 2014

We are using CodeMap internally with quite large projects and the only delay (which is still bearable) is when opening truly huge code files. Is this what you are referring to?

EDIT 2014-02-12:

Great tool!

Thanks for fixing both things! I really appreciate it.

Original text:

Great tool!

I just wish it wouldn't open this page on every update.

EDIT 2014-01-30: I know I don't speak for everybody, but I think there are two problems that people have with the weekly updates:

1. Having to restart Visual Studio.
2. The update makes itself front-and-center in several ways (opens this very web page, shows the "Welcome to Code Map {0}!" collapsible).

#1 is something only Microsoft can address.
#2, however, is something you can address.

Personally I dislike it when extensions in any app put up a "new update" page (there are several Firefox/Chrome extensions that do the same thing, and it's just as annoying there). It's very prominent with this extension, though, due to frequent updates (which I like btw!)

I would recommend ditching the page-launch-on-install and keeping the collapsible (as it is not as obtrusive and is easy to collapse), or at least provide options to disable those.

Thanks again for making a great product!

# Chris
