  • Steps to use exsiting VS2008 Guidance Packages?
    6 Posts | Last post April 15, 2010
    • Hello,

thank you for releasing the beta of GAX2010.
Nevertheless, I didn't manage to register Guidance Pakages for VS2010.
Even if they work fine on VS2008.

Do the packages need adjustments? can thes adjustments be made without a GAT2010?

Will you release a toolkit beta?

Thanks in advance and thanks for continuing GAX in VS2010!!!

      Regards

      Matt
    • Hi,

If no Gat available yet, is there any guideline how to migrate packages to vs2010 ... ?

      Thanks,

    • Hi again,

as my company beside GAX used Microsoft.Practices.RecipeFramework.Extensions.dll as there were more powerfull actions, editors, helper methods etc... Is there vs2010 compiled version of this library, and if not will it be available soon?

      Thanks,
    • Yes, we knew posting GAX without GAT would be only somewhat helpful. Hopefully this will help lots more: http://cut.ms/OrW

We also hope to be posting the release candidates of both GAT and GAX (here on the Gallery) this week.
    • Hi, Don,

I started with conversion of my Package ...
I followed instructions you put on web, and with few bugs I managed to reach this exception and there I stucked... Buld is looking for a template in a wrong dir... it is in solutions\projects folder not just in projects folder

Error	116	The "GenerateMenuResource" task failed unexpectedly.
Microsoft.Practices.RecipeFramework.RecipeFrameworkException: Unexpected error loading template file name ..\..\..\..\..\..\Output\HI\Factory\Templates\Projects\PartsLibrary\PartsLibraryTemplate.vstemplate.
