I have VS 2013 but when I run this install, I am only presented with the ability to integrate with 2010. Your website says you work 2010+.

What gives? I will find it hard to drop hundreds of $$ when the demo isn't even working right.

Oh apologies, there's something wrong going on. The latest dotTrace should definitely integrate with VS2013. To clarify, which edition of VS2013 are you using? It shouldn't integrate into Express because obviously it doesn't allow any extensions but Community, Professional and higher should work fine. Please let us know. Thanks

Sadly, won't attach to running projects depending on their framework version versions (Works when starting them).

But otherwise very useful to dig into slow code.

Thanks Julien! AFAIK .NET profiling API prior to version 4.0 simply doesn't allow attaching to running processes.

I found it useless.
-inaccurate results
-mixed code profiling results is just wrong
-JIT compilation profiling is not supported

Thanks for the feedback Roman. Can you please let us know what type of application you were trying to profile?

  • How can I profile a Windows Phone application?
    2 Posts | Last post January 10, 2013
    • When I try to profile a WP7 application, it says that application type cannot be automatically selected (don't remember the exact words), and then it offers me to choose which app type to profile, but cannot see Windows Phone app. Is it Silverlight app? I'm almost sure it isn't Smart device app.

I have Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 Pro with WP8 SDK
    • dotTrace 5.x Performance doesn't actually support profiling Windows Phone applications (neither version 7 nor 8)

There was a mention of Windows Phone support on the product's Visual Studio Gallery description which was clearly made by mistake and is now removed.

Please excuse us for this confusion (
