Since I still have to use VS2008 for some projects this plug-in is a "must have" for me! :)

Agree that this should be out of the box.

Open Command Prompt was already enough to convince me that this is a must-have. I just tried it and found it awesome. Why isn't this integrated by default?!

I would give it 5 stars for its collapse-projects feature, but since it causes VS2008 to crash whenever I open an aspx file, it's completely useless!

Please fix this!!!

Great commands and useful almost every day.

Heh one quirky (odd ball) behaviour I noticed. How come I can't seem to permanently close nor disable the undo close window? :-)

I hide it, hit the X .. sometime later it pops back up. Guess it uncloses itself?

This add-in simply rocks. There are some that I don't use, but many I use every day. Collapsing an entire solution is priceless!

Couldn't use it as Visual Studio exited when opening a solution.

Hope to enable running the output exe file assembly out of VS from the same context menu (no debugging indeed).
Like: Run Output Assembly!

  • Where do I access the commands
    1 Posts | Last post July 05, 2011
    • I have found the entry in Options, and all commands are enabled.
However, I can't discover a menu with the commands on; e.g. clear recent projects/files list.
Can anyone tell me where to find them, please?
I am using VB.NET for a database project.

    • Something else that doesn't work with database projects :( why doesn't Microsoft care about db projects? If you just use the basics they are actually quite useful why to work.
  • Where is the VS2010 compatible version?

    • Any plans to have this available anytime soon??
    • Yes. We are working on updating the Powercommands to work with Visual Studio 2010 but they won't be ready for the Beta. We don't have a firm date yet on when these will be ready but we'll try to post them as soon as possible.
    • The VS 2010 Beta 2 version is now available.
      Try it out!
    • Where is the 2010 Rc1 version? The above link says project has not been published yet.
      Missing it!!
    • Any idea when the 2010 version will be back?
    • Cammon people, that was a low blow. VS2010 comes out and you guys pull PowerCommands out. Not good. It sucks to not have the ability to copy references between projects right when we are trying to update library version and so on. Why take the download out? That sucks.
  • how to uninstall from my visual studio IDE

I am having a hard time finding on ways to remove powercommands from my IDE. Currently it does not let me add any new tab in toolbox and choose items.
Any help on removing or uninstalling it from my IDE would be greatly appreciated.

    • Hello.
When I attempt to copy references (or a single reference) between projects using PowerCommands for VS2008 I get the following error:
error hresult e_fail has been returned from a call to a com component
      Any ideas?
  • Be able to organize PowerCommands into a submenu
    1 Posts | Last post October 06, 2009
    • After installing Team Explorer, PowerCommands and a few other tools, I get a contextmenu list on project items which no longer fits on my screen (1680x1050). So would it be possible to add a configuration option for each menu to show it in a submenu?
So if the option is enabled, it should have another checkbox stating 'show in submenu'. All items that have that checkbox checked should then appear in the same submenu 'PowerCommands' of the contextmenu. Similar to how the Add or Debug submenus work on the contextmenu of a project.
