Nice commentator, makes the code more clear. I suggest the extension should also work on Summary section

I'd like to make a few suggestions to make this extension even better than it already is:

a. Ability to specify keywords which are matched and which have font changes applied to them: For example 'ReSharper', 'TFS', 'WorkItem', 'Review' etc.

b. Is there any way to change the font of the preceding '//s' so the whole line is affected

c. Include '///' and '////' as comment indicators.

Obviously if you implemented (a) then you 'simply' need to have your current set of extensions as the pre-loaded set -- which makes me think it's tricky otherwise I suspect you'd have already done it :)

Andy - many thanks for taking the time to share your ideas! I will definitely take them into account for the next version of the product, hopefully within a couple of months.

This is great, I use the Strikethrough comments the most when temporarily blotting something out, this keeps it nice and distinct from actual comments. The Larger or smaller ones are fantastic too for extra emphasis.

Is there a way to "Block Comment" in VB.Net with this though? I know VB requires a comment char on each line, but when doing Standard comments I can use the "Comment Selection" toolbar button (or CTRL+C / CTRL + K) to instantly comment an entire block.

However when using the strikethrough comments, I have to manually type (or remove) 'x on each and every line. Would be useful if I could just select some lines and click a button to add, or remove this char, (and others). Could you create a toolbar with a set of add / remove Extended Comment buttons on for each of these features? Either that or a right-click context menu. :)

Clearly the block comment idea (for VB) makes sense - thank you for detailing it!

I have a problem. I installed the product and used it until the trial period ended. I bought the product and I now have a valid keycode. However, I can't get the registration/validation window to come up.

Ao how do I activate the product after the trial period ended?

Please open the "VS10x Comments Extender - Customize" dialog (it's in the "VS10X" menu on the VS menu bar) and go to the "About" tab. It's all there :-)
Should you encounter further difficulties then please contact us by email (supportATaxtoolsDOTcom) for a faster reply - we only check these pages once a day, but e-mail is almost instant.

I suggest to enable the styles for //TODO+ or //TODO! etc. lines, so we can view the lines in VS TODO list.

Hmmm... Sounds interesting and, most probably, doable. Let me see what I can do about it!

Very helpful tool.

I'm using on VS2010 Ultimate.

I use this addin extensively. It's one of those things you don't NEED, but it fills numerous unknown needs!

Support is also exemplary:
Version 1.31, and earlier, had a bug which broke operation Visual Studio 2012/2010 dependent files.

For example, if I had a *.tt file used in Entity Framework, with V1.31 installed and enabled, clicking on a file under the T4 parent did not display the file, just the tab, and would often crash VS.

Disabling the comments extender fixed the problem.

I notified the developer of this and within a day it was resolved. Great response!

The Large and Small comments crash VS 2012. This is also the issue with the comment blocks below since two of the lines start with //-

Please resolve this. You have had this reported for some time now. I am having trouble keeping my company paying for this as it is.

Thank you!

Problem solved - please update to 1.32

by Rumen Paletov | November 15 2012

VS 2012 RTM crashes when trying to paste the following header in a .cs file:

// <auto-generated>
// This code was generated by a tool.
// Changes to this file may cause incorrect behavior and will be lost if
// the code is regenerated.
// </auto-generated>

If you can't reproduce it try to disable and re-enable the extension after that. Then you should be able to reproduce the exception.

You know. It's not be bad if you have some button hiding ALL comments in the document.

I really looking for such tool.
