VS Professional 2013 v 12.0.40629.00 Update 5. I only get a white page when I try to click on a chat. Works fine in the web browser. Is it a know issue? Any time frame for a fix? We just want to be able to search the chat room and this seemed a good candidate but I don't know if you have a search option since I didn't see it listed. Thanks.
I just installed the older version (1.2) and the chat works fine. But it crashes Visual Studio 2013 when the pop-up notification runs. I'm still giving you guys 5 stars because this is going to be awesome once it becomes stable.
This is really good. As it's always a bad thing for productivity the more you need to switch between applications. However, could we have direct linking to tasks? Visual Studio Online supports linking to tasks with a hash tag. So, let's say you want to ask someone to help with task ID 1160, you'd simply type #1160 in your message and the room would get a link to the task.
I like this extension because it enables me to stay inside my IDE. I did find a small bug I believe, after you create a task for example then on the web interface it shows Task #x however in the Team Rooms extension, this gets shown as Changeset #x
Thank you Jan for your feedback. The functionality mentioned by you is not implemented in to the extension yet. We are currently working on next version of extension and unfortunately our backlog is full. We will pick this up as soon as our development for upcoming version is complete. Thank you for your understanding.
Hi, very excited about this feature. however it doesn't to work in my setup - Visual Studio Premium 2013 Update 4) + TFS Online.
Installed ok, I can see my rooms in the list. However, selecting any of them doesn't change anything in the main window. It's completely white and doesn't show any elements (buttons, etc). I've re-installed the extension, restarted VS, machine - nothing so far. Anything you could recommend? Thanks
Not even the "User Information" side-bar or the "Post a message" box at the bottom?
I get both of those but a white main area until the room contains at least 1 message, after which the main area refreshes to show the message list in my (Dark) theme.
I get the error
The extension 'Team Rooms for Visual Studio 2013' requires a version of the .NET Framework that is not installed.
I try to install in VS 2013 Ultimate however I also have VS 2015 installed.
The quick-n-dirty solution to this is:
1. Download the vsix package file.
2. Open the vsix file as an archive (e.g. using 7-zip).
3. Edit the extension.vsixmanifest file in the archive.
4. Change the Dependency version attribute from "4.5" to "[4.5,)" (yes, open bracket, closing parenthesis).
5. Save the changes back into the archive.
6. Install the vsix package.
Thanks for your feedback. Hopefully latest version should fix the issue - please try. We do test it before shipping it. However, it is not possible for us to test it in different TFS versions as we do not have such environments. We are working on this in our spare time and we make sure we test it in environments only available to us. We rely on community members like you, to give us feedback and report issues.
after the update to version 1.3.1 I can't use it anymore. every time I enter a team room, when it is loading the messages, I get the following exception (please note everything worked before, I have a german version of tfs 2013 and vs 2013 ultimate in english however)
An exception has been passed to SmartAssembly.ReportException

I am receiving the same error as the original poster. I tried 1.2.9 above, and it works until you enable the toast notifications. Interacting with the toast notifications in anyway crashes VS. Are there any updates on a fix for the original issue?
We have made few defect fixes as per the new API changes. Please download the latest version and let us know if it fixes the issues you have faced. Thanks for the feedback and keep it coming.
